Formnext has reconfigured its organizational structure to create a management duo leading the Formnext brand. Christoph Stüker has been promoted to join Sascha Wenzler as duo managers for Formnext, the world’s leading trade fair for additive manufacturing (AM) and the next generation of industrial production.
Both have been key members of the event team since the inaugural Formnext in 2015 and have now joined forces to continue driving the brand forward. Stüker was formerly deputy vice president of Formnext.
“I have been involved in Formnext since its inception and have helped to shape the event,” Stüker says. “In my new function, I look forward to continuing this work with Sascha Wenzler and the amazing team to keep delivering an exceptional platform for our customers and community members into the future.”
In the 10 years since its premiere, Formnext has continued to grow, expanding its content with supporting events and showcases plus a new conference program and awards format. Formnext has become a hub for AM and the organizers work on a large number of projects throughout the year that go far beyond traditional exhibition activities. The ongoing changes in the AM industry require continuous adaptation and fine-tuning of the trade fair concept as well as a year-round offering to the industry.
“Having both of us in charge will make it easier to address all the associated challenges, and I am delighted to have Christoph Stüker as the perfect partner at my side,” Wenzler says. He has been heading Formnext as vice president of Mesago Messe Frankfurt since 2015. “Christoph has been with Formnext since the very beginning and is the ideal person to provide the support required to take Formnext into the future. Together with our strong team, we will be able to respond even more comprehensively to this exciting growth sector.”
Formnext serves as a hub for additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing. In addition to the annual expo in Frankfurt, Germany, the organization provides clients with a variety of relevant AM updates, insights and events as well as the related technologies along the entire process chains.
“I am delighted that by establishing this dual leadership with Sascha Wenzler and Christoph Stüker, we are taking account of the growing relevance of our Formnext for the AM community,” says Petra Haarburger, Mesago Messe Frankfurt president. “In this way, we will be able to drive forward the further development and expansion of relevant formats in the technology hub.”
Mesago was founded in 1982 and is located in Stuttgart. It specializes in exhibitions and conferences on various topics of technology. The company belongs to the Messe Frankfurt Group. Mesago operates internationally and is not tied to a specific venue. With around 160 staff members, Mesago organizes events for the benefit of more than 3,300 exhibitors and over 110,000 trade visitors, conference delegates and speakers from all over the world. Numerous trade associations, publishing houses, scientific institutes and universities work closely with Mesago as advisers, co-organizers and partners.
