Airtech Advanced Materials Group expands into Europe with the opening of a large-scale additive manufacturing (AM) facility in Luxembourg. The latest location follows the 2019 opening of Airtech’s Tennessee facility, which has the same capabilities to accommodate some of the largest machinery on the market — 12 m × 3 m (40' × 10') — with integrated machining capability.

The facilities feature the Print-Tech full-service tool manufacturing, which can take tooling from conception to the shop floor significantly faster than conventional methods. Print-Tech AM deposits only the material required, resulting in less touch labor and shorter lead times. According to the company, large-scale tooling in the form of trim fixtures, holding fixtures and layup molds can be designed, tooled and built faster without compromising on quality.

The facilities also feature Airtech’s series of Dahltram polymer composite resins, which are used for large-scale 3D printing to address the need for lower coefficient of thermal expansion and a more robust service life when used at low or high temperatures. These thermoplastic composite resins are designed for use in any pellet-fed FDM printing system.
