Additive Manufacturing Workshop for Plastics Unveils Complete Program
Presented by Additive Manufacturing Media, Plastics Technology and MoldMaking Technology, the 3D Printing AM Workshop for Plastics will present practical applications of 3D technologies related to plastics processing.
The Additive Manufacturing Workshop for Plastics has announced its complete line-up of technical sessions. Presented by Additive Manufacturing Media, Plastics Technology and MoldMaking Technology, the workshop will present practical applications of 3D printing technologies related to plastics processing. Topics include production at scale, digital modeling, design considerations, 3D printing versus injection molding and medical applications. The workshop will take place alongside Amerimold in Rosemont, Illinois, on June 13.
Opening the Additive Manufacturing Workshop for Plastics at Amerimold, Additive Manufacturing Media Editor-in-Chief Peter Zelinski will lead a discussion with guests Marc Mitchell, design center manager, Byrne Tool + Design and Lester Jones, vice president, Custom Mold & Design and TeamVantage. Mitchell and Jones will briefly share their experiences using additive manufacturing for multiple uses including the creation of prototype parts and 3D-printed molds, giving a brief look into how AM is reducing production costs and increasing consistency in the process.
Post-introduction, the presentations are as follows:
"Is AM Ready to Produce One Million Production Parts in a Real Manufacturing Setting?" Speaker: Steve Chillscyzn, CEO, Evolve Additive Solutions.
"Digital Transformation: A Practical Application for 3D Printing in Production.” Speaker: Ken Burns, technical sales director, Forecast 3D.
“The Difference Between Designing for Additive Manufacturing and Injection Molding for Production." Speaker: Jason Lopes, production development engineer, Carbon.
The panel discussion, "The Advance of 3D Printing into Scale Production," moderated by Additive Manufacturing Media, will include a representative from HP as well as all of the previous speakers: Steve Chillscyzn of Evolve Additive Solutions, Ken Burns of Forecast 3D and Jason Lopes of Carbon.
The keynote presentation, “How Additive Manufacturing and Digital Technologies are Changing the Face of Dental/Medical Education and Patient Care," will be given by Dr. Gerald Grant, chair, oral care and rehabilitation, University of Louisville, and will close out the workshop.
The full agenda is available here. Registration is now open.
Attendees will also have access to the technical sessions and equipment demos on the Amerimold show floor. Presentations cover conformal cooling, hot runner maintenance, how public policy affects the industry and more.
The AM Workshop is part of a suite of industrial 3D printing events being held this year, including the 3-day Additive Manufacturing Conference in Austin in August and a co-located composites event with CAMX in September.
