Sabic's Breakaway Support Filament Boosts Printing Productivity
Formnext 2019: Sabic’s AMS31F filament is a breakaway support material for fused deposition modeling that maintains rigidity and adhesion during printing, while also providing pliability for separation during postprocessing.
Sabic’s AMS31F filament is a breakaway support material for fused deposition modeling that maintains rigidity and adhesion during printing, while also providing pliability for separation during postprocessing. This pliability is said to better enable removal of scaffolding at room temperature to reduce the time required to produce finished parts. The AMS31F filament is compatible with Sabic’s Ultem AM9085F filament, a polyetherimide (PEI) material that delivers high heat resistance and mechanical strength. The support filament’s white color contrasts the Ultem filament’s amber color, which enables operators to more quickly identify structures to be removed.
