Formlabs is launching the Form Wash L and Form Cure L, a fully automated postprocessing system for the company’s line of large format printers, the Form 3L and Form 3BL.
With Form Wash L and Form Cure L, the company says users can streamline 3D printing workflow by automating the postprocessing of large-scale, high-volume prints to consistently produce high-quality parts. Together, the pair complete Formlabs’ large-format SLA ecosystem, offering an intuitive end-to-end solution for printing and processing professional quality parts and making it a 3D printing solution for cost-effective, in-house, large-scale production.
The postprocessing machines are designed to offer customers even greater ease-of-use and automation for large-scale 3D printing. Form Wash L cleans SLA 3D printed parts after printing, while Form Cure L completes the curing process to help parts achieve peak mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy. The two machines are compatible with Formlabs’ entire line of SLA printers and can be used for both large parts or high throughput of smaller parts.
Postprocessing with Wash L and Cure L automates and streamlines the workflow by offering users preprogrammed settings that are tuned to each Formlabs resin. These large-format solutions have also been validated and are compatible with the majority of the company’s SLA materials, including biocompatible, sterilizable materials made in its ISO 13485 facility.
The completion of Formlabs large-format 3D printing ecosystem enables users to take control of their large-scale production, increase throughput and bring their biggest ideas to life, the company says. Designed with users in mind, the entire ecosystem — from printer to material to postprocessing — is said to offer users a hassle-free, intuitive experience. It is said large-format prints are often outsourced, leading to costly prototypes and long lead times. Formlabs says this entire ecosystem of products makes it easy to bring production in-house to save time and money.
