Meltio is partnering with Jupiter Machine Tool (JMT) and Union MT (UMT) to create a fully integrated additive manufacturing (AM) and subtractive machine solution in a hybrid CNC machine. The companies have entered into an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manufacturing agreement which creates a global partnership dedicated to developing and selling JMT hybrid CNC machines using Meltio’s patented directed energy deposition (DED) technology, to support rapidly growing demand.
This global team says its combined engineering, field service, marketing and sales efforts working together creates a unique trilateral partnership. Meltio specializes in wire-laser metal DED AM while JMT focuses on repairing and building CNC machine tools and models across North America. JMT will now serve as an OEM for the Meltio Engine CNC Integration, which enables metal 3D printing and machining of complex geometries in a single process step.
This collaboration with Meltio enables the introduction of the Meltio Engine CNC Integration into a JMT tool to install metal AM solutions in several industries. Meltio’s high-performance, affordable solutions utilize wire-laser metal 3D printing technology, which can produce complex metal parts from wire feedstock. The ability to produce parts from wire makes operation and material handling very clean, as well as ensuring 100% material efficiency.
“Meltio's main commitment with this new partnership with Jupiter Machine Tool offering to all types of industries in North America is the ability to manage the entire manufacturing process using our unique metal 3D printing technology consisting of a Meltio head integrated into a CNC machine and a safe environment, to just produce and repair parts,” says Emilio Juárez, Meltio sales director.
JMT says it is excited about the partnership. “The creation of a global partnership of Jupiter Machine Tool, Meltio and UnionMT, located on three continents, is extraordinary and exciting,” says Ray Whitehead, JMT CEO. “Our tri-cultural synergy blended with diverse global technology results in the design and manufacture of three and five-axis additive-subtractive CNC machine systems.”
JMT provides total solutions for the advanced manufacturing industry, including a complete line of different CNC machine and tooling solutions, and a suite of augmented reality and virtual reality industrial solutions. It also provides engineering support, process improvement, quality control, service support and production equipment to leading manufacturers in the automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, agricultural, transportation, 3C and mining, among others.
The company’s varied portfolio of CNC machines includes five-axis machining, vertical and horizontal machining, turning and milling, bridge and gantry, and machining accessories. Its manufacturing services help different industries with repair and manufacturing processes such as engineering and automation, factory maintenance, legacy overhaul and third-party spare parts. The industries served in all of the United States include automotive, defense, die and mold, and medical sectors.
