Roboze Joins America Makes Consortium
The collaboration with America Makes will focus on enhancing manufacturing capabilities and strengthening supply chain resilience through additive manufacturing.
Roboze, a global supplier in additive manufacturing (AM) for high-performance materials, has joined the America Makes Institute which works to accelerate the adoption of AM and increase U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.
The move is part of a strategic collaboration with some of the most influential companies and organizations in the American manufacturing industry, aimed at enhancing supply chain resilience and supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through advanced manufacturing solutions.
America Makes, recognized as the first national institute for AM in the United States, is a hub that convenes companies, academic institutions and government agencies in a joint venture to accelerate innovation and the diffusion of 3D printing and AM technologies. Joining the collaborative will enable Roboze to partner directly with some of the country's major industrial stakeholders, fostering an environment of technological exchange and best practices that will benefit the entire manufacturing sector.
The collaboration with America Makes will focus on enhancing manufacturing capabilities through AM, which enables the optimization of production times and increases operational flexibility needed to respond quickly to market fluctuations. This technology is essential for building an agile supply chain capable of overcoming disruptions, while simultaneously providing constant support to small and medium-sized enterprises.
Also, Roboze will commit to facilitating access to this technology, ensuring that SMEs can benefit from these advanced manufacturing capabilities. Roboze engineers high-performance thermoplastic polymers.
“We are excited to be part of America Makes and to actively contribute to the evolution of additive manufacturing in the United States,” says Alessio Lorusso, Roboze CEO. “This collaboration represents an extraordinary opportunity not only for Roboze but for the entire industrial sector, allowing us to elevate the production and innovation capabilities of American SMEs.”
Roboze's membership in the America Makes Institute is effective immediately, with joint projects set to begin in the coming months. The collaboration is destined to create new opportunities for both partners and to establish new standards of excellence in AM.
To create its Technology Roadmap, America Makes held in-person workshops and activities where members engaged in a series of methodologies to generate and categorize industry needs. Working in teams, they documented hundreds of needs statements and identified affinities among them that ultimately converged on a curated set of project concepts.
America Makes Governance Board Members then convened to prioritize the project concepts and plot them on an impact-difficulty matrix. The outcome resulted in the successful identification by America Makes of concepts that are most suitable for public-private partnership projects, versus those that are better suited for industry to tackle.
