EOS has expanded its production capacity and relocated its system manufacturing facilities to Maisach-Gerlinden, Germany, just west of Munich and closer to its headquarters in Krailling. With the 9,000-square-meter facility, EOS is boosting its production capacity in 2018 to manufacture as many as 1,000 systems per year. According to the company, the move enables it to meet the growing demand for its systems on an industrial scale. Further, the company says its agile production processes and flexibly designed workplaces enable it to respond and adapt at short notice to the changing requirements of production, customers and markets.

Senior Vice President Central Europe Nikolai Zaepernick says, “We installed around 1,000 systems in the first ten years of our existence as a company. This number has increased significantly, particularly during the last two years. We now have an installed base of around 3,000 systems worldwide. Over the next few years we also expect to see a further significant demand for our technology.”

The company carries out factory acceptance tests (FATs). At the new plant in Maisach, customers also have the opportunity to get involved in the acceptance tests of new systems. In addition to the customary machine qualification the company performs, customers can request to have specific test jobs built of parts that they actually want to produce at a later date.
