Minirail Provides Reliability and Convenience in Additive Manufacturing
Formnext 2019: Schneeberger Linear Technology’s guideway minirail provides reliability and convenience to additive manufacturing, according to the company.
The Schneeberger miniature guideway Minirail is said to enable a high degree of precision within confined spaces. The carriages can be replaced for simple storage and reduced maintenance costs. With eight rail widths and four carriage lengths, design engineers can choose between two accuracy and preload classes. The Minirail has acceleration values of up to 300 m/sec.2 and speeds of 5 m/sec. in part due to the heavy-duty ball recirculation units embedded in the carriages, which can accommodate extremely high centrifugal forces. The rails are made of corrosion-resistant, hardened steel for increased reliability under high acceleration and large load values.
