BigRep’s DRYCON filament dryer is designed to maximize filament performance for technical, flexible and high-temperature materials. The DRYCON is designed to deliver consistent filament conditions for better and repeatable print quality, lower costs per part, and enhance a part’s strength and durability.

The company says it is the only machine with dual-chamber capacity that does three things at once — dry, store and anneal, making it a well-suited complement for industrial 3D printers by delivering superior filament care and high-quality parts.

As a solution to maximize filament performance, DRYCON features a large-build volume with dual chambers that dry and store up to 36 kg of filaments in custom conditions. The chambers heat up to 180°C, which makes it well suited for annealing 3D printed parts to give them industrial-grade strength.

The DRYCON ensures hygroscopic filaments perform at their best by creating optimal conditions that enhance print quality, minimize extrusion problems and improve the overall mechanical strength of a part. With it, users can achieve repeatable print quality and lower production cost by minimizing print defects and failures.

Special Features

  • Dual-Chamber Capacity — Both chambers (396 × 455 × 478 mm each) dry, store and anneal prints. The temperatures of the chambers can be customized independently to store filaments with different requirements.

  • Active Air Exchange — The DRYCON’s active air exchange system periodically cycles humid air with fresh air, ensuring optimal drying conditions while maintaining high energy efficiency.

  • Annealing for Industrial-Grade Parts — Both chambers heat up to 180°C and anneal 3D prints to enhance properties such as strength, dimensional accuracy and heat resistance, and to improve the surface quality of the print by smoothing the top layer to give it a professional-grade finish.
  • Seamless DRYCON to Printer Filament Feed — The DRYCON’s four filament outlets streamline the AM process by feeding the material directly into the 3D printer, thereby removing the need for manual transfers and separate storage.

The DRYCON is now available across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and will be available globally in early 2025.
